Which orthodontic treatment is right for me?
The orthodontic treatment that’s right for you will depend on how severe your orthodontic problems are and your preferences. To know which is best, the Smile Bright Dental experts examine your gums and teeth, discuss your medical history and lifestyle, and review the results of your dental X-rays. They let you know what to expect during and after treatment.
What happens during orthodontic care?
Your customized orthodontic treatment can consist of:
Invisalign
Invisalign uses a series of clear aligners to straighten your teeth gradually, typically over 6-18 months. Place the aligners over your teeth and switch to the next set of aligners in your series about every two weeks. Wearing a retainer afterward, at least at night while you sleep, helps maintain the new alignment of your teeth.
Braces
Braces use metal brackets bonded to your teeth. Metal wires connect the brackets. The wires are tightened periodically to shift your teeth into a desirable position over time. Return to your dentist every few weeks to have the wires adjusted. While every patient is different, it’s common to wear braces for 1-2 years and then a retainer after that to maintain the realignment.
Call the Smile Bright Dental office anytime a bracket breaks or you lose or damage a clear aligner.
Are you ready for straighter teeth, a perfect bite, and self-confidence that can last a lifetime? Schedule an orthodontic evaluation at Smile Bright Dental by calling the office or booking a visit online today.
