Veneers
What are dental veneers?
Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells that fit over the surface of your teeth, altering the look and alignment of your smile. They are a common treatment for celebrities and public figures, and they’re the secret behind many famous smiles.
One of the reasons veneers are so popular is the ability to transform your smile in just a few short visits. The results are beautiful, durable, and long-lasting.
What can dental veneers correct?
Dental veneers can address a wide range of common aesthetic issues. Best of all, they can address more than one concern with the same treatment, making them an affordable option.
Some of the issues dental veneers can correct include:
- Discoloration
- Gapped teeth
- Minor alignment issues
- Unusually small teeth
- Abnormally shaped teeth
- Worn down teeth
- Chips or cracks
During your consultation Dr. Rostami will evaluate your teeth and discuss all the available treatment options in detail, giving you everything needed to make an informed decision.
What is the process for getting dental veneers?
During your first visit Dr. Rostami removes a very small amount of your natural tooth tissue to make room for the veneers. She then gathers digital imaging or impressions to send to the lab where your veneers are crafted.
You might receive a temporary set of veneers to wear until your permanent ones arrive. This usually takes around a week.
When you return, Dr. Rostami removes your temporary veneers and checks the new ones for proper fit. She chooses a colored cement to match the shade of your natural teeth, then cements each veneer into position. She can make minor adjustments to enhance the shape of your new veneers.
Once your veneers are in place you simply move forward with your normal dental hygiene routine. Take care not to place undue pressure on your veneers by biting down on hard food or objects or chewing ice or non-food items. Your veneers are checked during your routine dental exams.
